The San Francisco Wine Exchange is a national marketer of California wines.

It is a unique sales organization for many reasons. It is the only independent marketing organization that has survived for more than 20 years (SFWE was incorporated in 1976). Mergers, buy outs, acquisitions and the growth in volume of brands handled by independents have eliminated dozens of our competitors.

SFWE relies on very personal, long term relationships with clients who seek special attention from a small company. It is a challenging profession that requires the full attention, good luck and wits of SFWE's management, sales force and staff.

San Francisco Wine Exchange is the oldest independent national marketer of premium California wines in business today. The company has begun to import wines from New Zealand and Argentina. The firm specializes in bringing to market the wines of small-production, super-premium quality producers from the wine-growing regions of California, other domestic wine-growing areas, and select wine-producing regions throughout the world.

Purpose & Goals

SFWE functions as a conduit for producers to market and distribute their wines throughout the United States and select export markets. One of its goals is to achieve quality distribution to top retail and restaurant customers through a national network of licensed wholesale distributors in the 50 United States. Another goal is to coordinate the individual needs of each producer to effectively develop their product line and production plans to ensure an effective ongoing supply of wine to meet demand.
