Pure and Simple, our winemaker has carefully blended these wines with sun-kissed fruit from our own Russian River Valley Estate Vineyards and selected vineyards throughout California, yielding wines that are enjoyable and drinkable now just kickin' it with friends or sippin' with your shadow.

BILL REGAN

Winemaker Bill Regan is a winemaker who strives to produce authentic, well made wines. "Winemaking is a bit like being a detective," explains Bill. "You have to follow the path and clues the fruit lays down for you at the start. Then, a year or so down the road, when I open a bottle of new Zinfandel, if I taste the flavors the grapes carried into the crusher, I know I've got my man!"

Foppiano got its man in 1980 when Bill Regan joined the winery as an assistant to Winemaker Rod Foppiano. Prior to joining Foppiano's, Bill earned a B.S. degree in Fermentation Science at Davis in 1976, and later spent time in the European grapegrowing regions observing the harvest and winemaking practices.

In 1984, Bill was offered the position of winemaker and since then has played a key role in establishing Foppiano Vineyards as a superior producer of red wines. Bill is now responsible for all winemaking duties at Foppiano from harvesting to making and bottling the wines.
